DIY Bunting

We found an old torn and tattered piece of cloth that used to cover one of toms sofa’s in his flat and decided to make bunting out of it! We made a stencil out of paper and very simply cut triangles out of the cloth, we made about 30 or so. Once that was done we sewed it to an appropriate length of string to fit the roof of the balcony. And yes, Tom and I both hand sewed each one! But over night the wind blew and frayed the ends of a few of the triangles. I guess that means we didn’t do that much of a splendid job of it. :)

In other news, the lens belonging to Toms digital camera broke, so documenting outfits and such is going to be a challenge. I don’t know what to do yet. We’re still figuring it all out.

Trying to be artistic

Sarah Maycock‘s artistic creations are amazing. Her work inspired me to start painting! I tried water colours for a bit after i first saw her work and realised im no hidden painter.

Although, Tom still keeps my pictures on his wall.

How easy it looks for her… A word i think of to describe such detail is effortless, though i know much effort and concentration is needed to create something so beautiful. Next i want to get serious with the crayon!

i want frills too.

Out with the old and in with the, oh how do I say this, something of a challenge for me, I think. I’ve been toying with the idea of combining my personal style with writing and now that December is brewing in close distance and i have finished Journalism school, its now that this challenge can be played with a bit.

Oh dear, i just spoke myself around saying the words ‘Style Blog’! Dreaded words I never wanted to conform to. But sometimes it is what it is, like an apple.

You’ll have to be patient however, i dont yet have such things to post on here.

And to be honest im still undecided. Questions loom, like Is my wardrobe big enough? Answer, Yes it is, in retrospect. Ask me face-to-face and ill say no, but i have gathered this answer from my slum of friends, (who have also offered me their wardrobes too!) What is my personal style? I like beanies and boots, we’ll work with it. Add in high waisted straight-leg pants, below the knee length cardigans and long dresses and i think we have something. What will I write about? Ill talk as i’ve always talked, about where i am, whats happening, whats inspiring. The difference that i’ve promised myself is that ill keep it consistent with the added extra of fashion talk!

Together with Tom as my photographer, as well as my general all round inspirer, i hope this will prove to be fun, unique and a step forward to where things go to next.

i leave you with some fashion inspiration and dreaming of magnificent London streets such the one displayed.

Meet the Flinstones

This, indeed, is what i wish i could have gone for over Halloween. But alas, i couldnt find the right bones, and wash-out hair dye. As well as a krimping hair tool. Therefore, ill keep this picture for years to come. One day when i go to a big Halloween event, where everyone is kitted out to the T, ill rock up, “meet the flinstones” style.
